Weight is not always related to cholesterol level. Some people have high cholesterol levels even though they are not overweight. However, any gain in weight is likely to be associated with a rise in cholesterol. Weight may also rise on a high-energy carbohydrate diet. Being physically active causes you to lose fat rather than muscle, so physical activity helps you to lose the right sort of weight.
